Digital Marketing is considered different from traditional marketing. But people forget that digital is just a medium and the laws of marketing are the same, whether the medium is digital or traditional. And, due to this misunderstanding, people don’t take the pain to know the laws of marketing due to which they are not able to become successful marketers.

The Laws of Marketing teach us that Marketing starts before creating the product. We need to understand the customer and his/her needs to develop a product that fits his needs. It is also keeping an existing customer happy by communicating with them so that they can retain a customer for life. Marketing is needed to build a brand and capture a position in the minds of the consumers. Never let marketing become more important than the product. Set forth plainly, Digital marketing is utilising digital channels such as search engines, websites, email, social media and mobile apps as tools for marketing communication.

Traditional marketing on the other hand involves traditional channels, like billboards, printed media, radio, direct mail and phone. Traditional marketing refers to any type of marketing that isn’t online. Up until the development of the internet in the 1990’s, traditional marketing was pretty much the only type of marketing.

Traditional marketing reach is very high but communication can’t be personalized.
